A close conjunction of the November Full Moon with Mars only 2.5° to the east (middle left in this image). It was quite a windy night and the clouds moved rapidly across the sky. This shot was taken when the clouds covered the Moon but not Mars, allowing a longer exposure to bring out Mars without over-exposing the Moon. The beautiful blue-grey / red-grey corona surrounding the Moon and the Mares on the Moon are clearly visible. |
